Kochi – Munnar

You will be welcomed at Cochin Airport early in the morning and then head towards Munnar, a beautiful hill station about four hours away. Gobells Holidays invites you to explore Devikulam, a serene hill station just 10 km from Munnar, known as the Kashmir of South India. Surrounded by tea gardens and the stunning Western Ghats, this peaceful destination carries both natural charm and spiritual significance. According to legend, Goddess Sita bathed in the lake here, blessing its waters with healing powers. Along with this divine connection, visitors can enjoy experiences like trout fishing (with prior permission), tea estate tours, boating, and wildlife spotting at Idukki and Eravikulam National Parks. You’ll also get to see the beauty of Kundala and Mattupetty Lakes, waterfalls like Pallivasal and Thoovanam, and spend time at the family-friendly Blossom International Park.

The best season to visit Devikulam is from October to February, when misty weather and vibrant gum trees make the scenery unforgettable. After breakfast, Gobells Holidays will drive you along a beautiful scenic route from Munnar to Thekkady (98.4 km, approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes). This charming hill station, located at an altitude of 2,890 ft, is famous for its lush forests and rich wildlife. The highlight of your visit will be the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, where you can spot elephants, tigers, sambar deer, and many other species in their natural surroundings. Thekkady’s cool climate makes it a year-round delight, just like Munnar.The best time to enjoy this road trip is between September and March, when the weather is perfect for wildlife sightings, trekking, boating, and sightseeing. As you travel, you’ll witness the contrast of landscapes Munnar’s rolling tea gardens and lakes at 5,026 ft, gradually blending into Thekkady’s tropical evergreen forests, semi-evergreen woods, moist deciduous cover, and grasslands. The road trip from Alleppey to Cochin covers about 85 km and takes nearly one and a half hours, giving you a smooth and comfortable end to your Gobells holidays.
